We would like to say a big hello to all Yes Hotel members. We are Marc and Louise White the new owners of Blackpool Cycle Rentals. We moved to Blackpool in 2005 and owned a guesthouse in Wellington Road for five years. Following the birth of our 5th child we decided that as much as we loved our jobs we needed to give a little more time to our family. We were given the opportunity to run Blackpool Cycle Rentals, which fits in superbly around our family.

We understand from a hotelier´s point of view how important it is to have a company provide an excellent service to their guests, to be able to offer something new with that personal touch.

We encourage cycling in and around Blackpool to all ages, whether you are single, in a group or out as a family. All of our children love cycling and they are 12, 7, 6, 2 and 3 months, although he cant really comment yet as he is too young!

As a large family we understand the high demands from families, areas to consider are prices, convenience, and interest. We feel that with Blackpool Cycle Rentals we cover all of these areas, by providing fairly priced, fun cycle equipment rentals, with customer service that is second to none. We offer free deliver and collection to all hotels, a friendly but professional customer service. But most of all we provide a service that you can rely on. Oh, and you will receive 10% commission on all
bookings, or 10% discount if you rent the bikes yourself.

Car Clamping and Towing

Hi YES HOTELS

One of our guests has just had to pay £275 in CASH ONLY to a company named “Car Park Security”
There are 3 car parks on Cocker St / Cocker Square area. The car park in Cocker Street is Council owned, the other two on Cocker Square are one is Council and one is PRIVATE OWNED.
 
Now what happened in this instance is that our guest parked on Cocker Square in the Council Owned car park, and used her car during the day, when she got back to the car park at 5pm the car park was full, and naturally she thought the car park joined to it was owned by the same company, BIG MISTAKE!! It is PRIVATE OWNED.
When she passed her car at 10pm it was still there, when she passed at 4am returning from wherever? It had disappeared.
 
On phoning the Police, they told her it had been towed away, and gave her the phone number of “Car Park Security”
When she phoned them, they were rude and arrogant, and they were because I tried to speak to them also.
They insisted that he comes to the Hotel, they hand over £275 in Cash, and he will take them to the Compound to release their Car.
The two young girls did not want to go in a car with a stranger? and too right? why should they?
 
When they phoned the police, they did not want to get involved, and would not say where the compound address was, as the girls wanted to make there own way there?
Luckily a taxi driver, had been there before, and took them to the compound. and they did their NUT, because they overruled them.
Now if any of the Yes Hotel members guests experience the same thing, this is the highly kept secret that the “Car Park Security” and the “Local Police” do NOT want US the KNOW, the compound address is – Queen Victoria Road, Blackpool
 
Shhhusss Don’t let any one know we know this highly kept secret?????
 
So the moral of this incident is : DO NOT PARK on the PRIVATE car park on Cocker Square, the one closest to the Manhattan Hotel.
And just to let you know, if it would of been the Council that towed it away, the charges would of only been £130.
And when I spoke to the Council’s agents who tow cars away, they would of let these girls off anyway, as it was a simple mistake, and there are NO signs warning parkers of who OWNS which car park.
 
ALL this is NOT good for Blackpool Business?

Invite a Friend script for your website (accommodation providers only)

Invite Your FriendsWe put together a snippet of code for you where you can ask visitors to your website to invite their friends to come at the same time.

It has the potential to increase the booking and put more “bums on beds” for you.  

Basically it’s a modified “Tell a Friend” script which we think could be useful for accommodation providers.  The visitor notices the graphic on the site and perhaps thinks “Oh…what about inviting Barbie and Ken to join us?” – this script makes it easy for him to do that.

You’ll need to have some knowledge of how to insert code into your webpages but if you can’t do it it’s a very easy task for your webmaster and charges should be minimal.

OK…so here’s how it works.

Firstly you need to register.
Go to http://www.i-nvites.com and click on “Register Here”
The database needs some information so it can pass this on to the user.

Once you have registered you need to login by entering your username and password in the login area at the top of the screen.

Then click on “MEMBERS AREA”

You’ll then be given the code you need to insert into your web page.

BlackpoolHotels.org continues to get good traffic and has now got a Google PR4 ranking.  We are continuing our efforts to improve its search engine positioning.

Only Yes!Hotels members are eligible for a listing.

Listing is completely optional.  

There are two listing options:-

1) with a link back to us for £59.95 p.a.

2) without a link back for £99.95 p.a.

Blackpool Accommodation Brochure Registration

Entry FREE for Yes!Hotels Members

DEADLINE: 30th June

Entries after that date will need to wait until 30th August to be included in the next run

If you want us to do the submission for you we need to charge £15.  Please click here to order this.

Members are now invited to submit their details for inclusion into the online brochure.  We expect this will be a popular download and all members are encouraged to supply their details for entry.

Your entry is FREE.

BUT…we need your help.  We require that you follow an exact format so that our time in compiling it is kept to a minimum.  We have already invested a LOT of time in compiling the script that will make the brochure and we simply have not got the resources to enter YOUR DETAILS for you.

So…if you want to be included (and why wouldnt you) then please closely follow the guidelines to save you, and us, valuable time.  Invalid entries, unfortunately, wil be rejected.

The first brochure will be compiled on 1st July.  Cut off date to be included in this is 30th June.   We will be compiling the brochure every 2 months so if you miss this deadline you’ll have to wait until 1st September to be included.

If you find online forms daunting then PLEASE ask a family member or friend to help you.  If all else fails then we can do it for you but we do charge a £15 admin charge. 

What is it? We have had a few requests for brochures.  This will be a pdf file which the viewer can download which will carry details of, hopefully all, of our members.  The file will also have details of money saving offers from local restaurants and attractions.  If the viewer follows our directions it will be installed on their desktop and possibly be a frequent source of information for choosing their accommodation in Blackpool.  It’s free – so get yourself in it! 

All entries will be randomly generated and we will compile it every two months so no one member will always be on the top.  A duplicated version will also be online in the form of a directory within the Yes!Hotels framework and this will offer a useful alternative to those who do not wish to pay for entry within http://www.blackpoolhotels.org

Your listing will carry all your contact details, a picture (which MUST be in landscape format by the way), 150 word description and an iconic list of facilities you offer.

Please remember this is a FREE SERVICE.  We simply havn’t got the time to retype entries because they were submitted in CAPITALS, or to fix hundreds of typo’s so your assistance in following the guidelines is greatly appreciated.

Coming Soon – downloadable Yes!Hotels Brochure

For illustration purposes only

Just want to let you know of an exciting project we’ll shortly be starting that will benefit ALL MEMBERS.

Coming to a computer screen near you real soon will be a downloadable 50 page brochure which will carry ALL members details.

And guess what….it will be COMPLETELY FREE to be included.  Yet another bonus of being a member of Yes!Hotels

Briefly the brochure will include:-

  • an image of your business
  • your business name
  • address, telephone, email and website address
  • 150 word description
  • your own catchy slogan (and “Come as  a Guest and Leave as a Friend” will not be allowed)
  • icons at the foot of your listing to show what facilities you offer.

It’s going to take a LOT of our time to compile and we hope you’ll understand we’ll need YOUR HELP.  We’ll be very strict about the format and will have to reject any that do not comply.  Of course you’ll get the opportunity to put things right but the crucial thing here is that you will need to understand that when submitting your information you will need to follow guidelines.  More about that later.

The brochure will include vouchers for local restaurants and attractions….and thus make it more attractive to save and view regularly.  Of course it will also give us the opportunity to compile a newsletter database of visitors to Blackpool that we can regularly send out enticing repeat vistors to the benefits a Yes!Hotels member can offer.

All listings will be randomly generated and regularly updated so no accommodation will always be at the top of the tree.  Much the same way as the listings on http://www.blackpoolhotels.org are generated.

Why bother? (we hear you say)  Well…it will be attractive for the viewers to download as they’ll hopefully install it on their desktop – it will have links to money saving offers and some good tourist information.  With the download we’ll be asking for email addresses so that we can regularly inform them of updates.  It will enable us to compile a large database of viewers who have asked for information about Blackpool accommodation (which we can use for future mailshots).  But the biggest plus point for you, the member, is its EXTRA EXPOSURE FOR YOU.
